## Email testing

MailSlurp is the perfect tool for email based testing. This means the creation of disposable email addresses that are unique for each test run. This enables isolated end-to-end testing using real email addresses.

### Use cases

Some common [MailSlurp](/api/) test cases are:

- User login and sign-up flow
- Password reset email testing
- [OTP magic link testing](https://www.mailslurp.com/blog/otp-sms-verification-tutorial/)

Another use of MailSlurp is to [test emails before they are sent](https://www.mailslurp.com/guides/email-testing-before-you-send/). Use a [virtual inbox](https://www.mailslurp.com/guides/creating-inboxes/#virtual-inboxes) to capture outbound emails and trap them so they never reach customers. This allows QA teams to inspect outbound emails and verify their contents before a change is committed.

## Get started

MailSlurp is free for personal use and has [flexible pricing](https://app.mailslurp.com/pricing/) options for every team. See the [getting started](/guides/getting-started/) guide to begin.
