Preview Email in New Outlook
Send a campaign to MailSlurp and preview it in New Outlook for Windows. Inspect the photograph, service details, price and booking action in the delivered email.

The campaign has changed since the last "looks good": a longer description, a new photograph or a different starting price. Preview the current email in New Outlook for Windows so the review covers the offer you're about to send.
MailSlurp's New Outlook target gives you that app's result from the email you supply. This walkthrough follows a fictional ClearRoof gutter-care campaign from its render address to a completed desktop preview. We'll inspect the photograph, two service descriptions, price and booking action, then read through the conditions and footer.
Which Windows Outlook does this guide cover?
Select New Outlook, whose viewer description is New Outlook on Windows. Outlook Classic, Outlook.com and the mobile Outlook apps are separate targets.
If a colleague reports a problem without naming the app, Microsoft's Outlook version guide helps identify it. New Outlook has Settings in its navigation header; its version information is under Settings > General > About Outlook.
Use the Outlook versions guide when planning a review across the family. Keeping the app name with a finding makes "the price moved" a much more useful report.
Why repeat the desktop preview after an edit?
A screenshot from last week's campaign can look reassuring while showing the wrong offer. Collecting fresh images from several colleagues takes time, especially when they use different apps or are reviewing different revisions.
MailSlurp renders the supplied message in the clients you select and keeps the results with that run. You can review the same campaign across the relevant apps, then repeat the check after a change. The important human decision is whether the customer can understand the offer and find the next step.
Step-by-step guide: preview email in New Outlook for Windows
You'll need a MailSlurp workspace with device previews available and enough preview credits for the target. We tested New Outlook on Windows on October 9, 2026.
The example is a fictional ClearRoof campaign with a hosted gutter photograph, two service descriptions, a starting price of $160 + GST and a yellow booking action. Its example links and fictional recipient make it suitable for inspecting the design.
1. Select New Outlook
Open the new device preview form, or choose Start new render from Device previews.
Expand Custom target set and select New Outlook. For this individual check, confirm 1 target selected and make sure a saved profile hasn't added Classic, webmail or other clients. Review the credits shown for the selection.
2. Copy the generated render address
Choose Send email. Copy the complete address under Send your email to this address, then check it against the recipient field in your sending tool.
Select the target before copying the address. The address in your current workspace carries the intended set of previews; an address kept from another test may belong to a different selection.
3. Send the campaign and follow its progress
Send the campaign or test email to that address. When working in an email platform, use its test-send option to inspect the message it produces, including personalization and link changes.
Our sample subject is Before the next downpour: gutter care from $160 + GST. You can download the sample email to examine the campaign, photo URL and example destinations. Keep the source unchanged when comparing it across clients.
Return to MailSlurp and choose I have sent my email. That opens the waiting workflow; receipt starts the render automatically. The matching campaign appeared with RUN CREATED, and View results opened its run.
Wait for COMPLETE and a READY New Outlook result. This run produced one ready screenshot. If the message has arrived but the result is still pending, follow the existing run before sending another copy.
4. Open the screenshot and inspect the offer
Open the completed result and confirm the viewer says New Outlook and New Outlook on Windows. Use the zoom controls to inspect smaller text, or Open to view the complete image separately.
Start with the headline and greeting, then read both service descriptions before moving to the price. Keep scrolling through the button, conditions and footer. The whole offer matters, including the text that explains the starting price.
What did the New Outlook preview show?
The white campaign sits in the middle of a pale surrounding area inside the Windows message window. ClearRoof Co. appears above the gutter photograph, which fills the campaign's width. The main heading, Time to clear your gutters?, fits on one line.
Gutters cleared and Downpipes checked sit side by side. Both descriptions stay beneath their headings, and the price follows the service row on a single line: Gutter cleaning from $160 + GST. The customer can read what the visit includes before reaching the offer.
The Book gutter cleaning action keeps its yellow fill and dark label. The explanation above it describes standard single-storey homes and confirming a suitable visit time. Below it, the conditions explain that access, roof pitch and gutter condition affect the final price.
The signoff and complete footer also appear: company details, preferences, unsubscribe, the sample notice and photo credit. This gives the reviewer the small print as well as the prominent parts of the campaign.
If the service copy changes, inspect this row again. A longer paragraph can change the balance between the two services, even when the rest of the email still looks familiar. Review the new result before making another layout adjustment.
What if a colleague sees a different layout?
First compare the exact message and Outlook app. A review of an earlier draft or another Outlook client may be showing a different starting point.
Ask the colleague to identify the element and show enough of the email around it to explain the problem. "The downpipe description wraps onto another line" is more actionable than "Outlook looks wrong." If needed, include the app version from Microsoft's instructions above when investigating the report.
Use the same source for the next preview. After editing the campaign, send it again and inspect the replacement result. The Outlook rendering guide helps investigate specific reproduced symptoms; choose a repair based on the actual problem.
MailSlurp features for the next campaign review
A render address is useful when the finished campaign is ready to send. During template work, MailSlurp also accepts HTML, exported emails and messages already received in a MailSlurp inbox. The email source guide explains which option fits each stage.
Save the clients you regularly review in a target profile. For a specific finding, a target comment or share link helps another reviewer inspect the same result and the surrounding content. Check the replacement screenshot before resolving feedback about a design change.
For application emails, the rendering API and CI workflow can retain screenshots with the message produced by a test. This keeps the preview tied to the revision that generated it.
Which other apps belong in the review?
Add Outlook Classic or Outlook.com when those clients matter to your audience. Include the phone apps too: a desktop result doesn't answer how the same offer reads on a smaller screen. The Outlook family guide helps keep those selections distinct.
For example, the Outlook Android walkthrough uses this same ClearRoof campaign. Its service descriptions stack, while New Outlook keeps them beside each other. Read both arrangements when changing the amount of service copy.
| Device | Email app | Appearance |
|---|---|---|
| Android phones | Gmail, Outlook | Light and dark |
| iPhone | Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook | Default |
| iPad | Apple Mail | Default |
| Mac | Apple Mail | Default |
| Windows | New Outlook, Outlook Classic | Default |
| Webmail | Gmail | Light and dark |
| Webmail | Outlook.com, Yahoo Mail | Default |
Choose the available clients and modes in your workspace when starting a preview. Test the apps your customers use, including dark mode where it is offered.
Gmail, Apple Mail and Yahoo are useful companion checks where your customers use them. Confirm the available selections in the current picker, and keep the campaign unchanged when comparing their results.
Finish the review at the booking destination
The yellow button attracts attention, but the descriptions and conditions tell the customer what that button means. Review the visit details, starting price and booking action as one sequence.
Before sending the real campaign, follow its booking link from a controlled message and check the destination. ClearRoof uses example links. A clear email and a working next page let an interested customer continue. Use a separate inbox placement test to check whether the campaign reaches the inbox or spam folder.
