Notifications and Slack integrations
Configure MailSlurp browser notifications, Slack or Teams destinations, device preview rules, account alerts, billing alerts, and quota notifications.
Overview
MailSlurp notifications let teams route account, billing, quota, and device-preview events to browser notifications and connected channels such as Slack and Microsoft Teams.
Open Settings > Notifications to review browser notification status, connected channels, device render rules, and account or billing rules.

Connect A Channel
Use Connected channels to connect Slack or Teams before creating channel rules.
For Slack:
- Open Settings > Notifications.
- Choose Slack from connected channels.
- Complete the Slack authorization flow.
- Load channels and choose the channel MailSlurp should post into.
- Return to Settings > Notifications and create rules for the destination.
For Microsoft Teams:
- Open Settings > Notifications.
- Choose Teams from connected channels.
- Open the Teams connection link.
- Send the prefilled connect message from Teams.
- Return to MailSlurp and refresh the destination list.
Account And Billing Rules
Account and billing rules can send operational events to connected destinations.

Account rules can be used for events such as plan-limit and quota-threshold notifications. Billing rules can be used for payment failures, subscription status updates, and cancellations.
Use a small number of high-signal rules first. Send alerts to a channel that an administrator or owning team actually reviews.
Quota Alerts
Quota alerts work with organization governance policies. Create report-only or alert-only quota policies from Settings > Organizations > your organization > Governance, then route account quota events from Settings > Notifications.
For quota setup, see organization governance and quotas.
Device Preview Rules
Device preview rules notify a connected channel when render runs complete, fail, or need attention. Open Settings > Notifications and choose Manage render notifications to configure render-specific rules.
Use device preview notifications when email rendering evidence needs to be visible to QA, release, lifecycle, or operations channels without manually checking the dashboard.
Testing Rules
After creating a rule, use Test to send a sample notification to the selected destination. If a test does not arrive:
- confirm the destination is active
- confirm the Slack or Teams channel still exists
- refresh connected channels
- check whether the rule is enabled
- use a simpler event set and test again
Recommended Setup
Start with these rules:
- account quota threshold alerts to an administrator channel
- billing payment failure alerts to the account owner channel
- device preview failure alerts to the release or QA channel
- plan limit alerts to the workspace administration channel
Keep notification rules reviewable. Pause or delete noisy rules and use dedicated channels for ownership-heavy workflows.
