Organization governance and quotas
Monitor organization usage, user activity, API key consumption, quota policies, quota events, and exports in MailSlurp.
Overview
MailSlurp organization governance gives administrators one place to review seat capacity, usage, user activity, API key usage, quota policies, quota events, and CSV exports.
Open Settings > Organizations, choose an organization, then open Governance.

What Administrators Can Review
The Governance page shows:
- user seat consumption and remaining capacity
- quota policy status and highest usage percentage
- email sent and received usage
- inbox creation usage
- phone number allocation usage
- SMS sent and received usage
- storage usage
- API request usage
- per-user usage with last login time and tags
- per-API-key usage by application or automation
- quota events and exportable reports
Use the Since and Before filters to choose a reporting window. Use metric, user search, tag, last-login, event, and scope filters to narrow the view.
Quota Policies
Quota policies can be scoped to the full organization, a user, or an API key. Choose the metric, period, limit, mode, and label from Quota Policies.

Use report-only or alert-only policies for review workflows. These modes store usage and quota events for administrators without automatically blocking users. Any blocking behavior should be enabled only as an explicit administrator decision after the policy has been reviewed.
Users, Tags, And Last Login
The User Usage table shows each organization user, their tags, last login time, API request volume, request failure rate, last API request time, and quota usage.

Tags can represent teams, environments, business units, cost centers, or workflow ownership. Edit tags from the organization user editor.

API Key Usage
The API Key Usage table shows application-level consumption for named API keys. Use a separate key per application, CI job, service, or environment so administrators can identify high-consumption automation and prepare chargeback reports.

Quota Events And Alerts
Quota events record threshold crossings, limit-reached events, and policy changes. Use them to review when a policy reached 50%, 80%, 100%, or another configured threshold.

For Slack, Teams, and account notification routing, see notifications.
Delete Permissions
Organization roles can separate destructive actions from read and write access. Delete email, delete attachment, and delete SMS permissions can be granted only to roles that need those operations.

Existing roles keep their current behavior when new delete permissions are introduced. Administrators can then tighten new or edited roles incrementally.
Exports And Reporting
Click Export CSV from Governance to download usage and quota event data for review. Exports are useful for:
- monthly usage review
- annual quota tracking
- trend analysis
- forecasting
- team chargeback
- identifying high-consumption users or applications
